John Spiliotis is an independent sales and go-to-market advisor with over 35 years of technology sales operating leadership experience across multiple industry verticals. He is a Senior Advisor for KKR’s Next Generation Technology team, an advisor to Ballistic Ventures and an advisor to several VC and PE-backed cybersecurity companies, such as Deep Instinct, Nozomi Networks, Aqua Security, Barracuda and Clari. John is a former Board member at KKR-backed Cherwell Software (sold in 2021), a Board member at KKR-backed firms Reliaquest and NetSPI, and a Board member at Theatro, a Dallas-based growth company.
Prior to transitioning from his sales leadership role at Palo Alto Networks in January 2018, John was responsible for driving all Palo Alto Networks direct and indirect sales in the Americas ($1.8B, 70% of all sales), across all customer segments including Major Accounts, Enterprise/Named accounts, Service Provider and Federal. John also had responsibility for pre-sales Systems Engineering, channel, and distribution. During his years at Palo Alto Networks, John spearheaded much of the hyper-growth and is now leveraging his vast experience as a Sales/GTM advisor for KKR and others.
Previously, John held senior theater-level positions with direct and indirect channel leadership roles at Cisco Systems, Extreme Networks, Avaya and Redback Networks, which was acquired by Ericsson.
John holds a Masters in Finance and Banking from Hofstra University and a BA degree in Mathematics from The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. He and his wife have lived in Centennial, CO for 29 years and have 3 children.
